My name is Bayly Miller, and I founded this practice on a commitment to set the standard for family law and criminal defense. When you need an experienced attorney to make sure that your rights are protected, no one will fight more aggressively on your behalf than me.
With over 25 years of experience, I have the tools to get results and secure your justice. My practice has an extensive and intricate understanding of legal procedures, from divorce mediation, child custody, to child support cases.

BACKGROUND:
Bayly Miller’s connection to Washington State dates to 1962 when his family moved to Port Townsend–Fort Worden, Washington, during the time that Fort Worden operated as a Treatment Center for Juveniles. Bayly’s father served as the Chaplin for the children who were sent to Fort Worden through the State’s Juvenile Justice System. The program at Fort Worden was a minimal security, residential program designed to allow a child to have as normal a life as possible; it was a major break from past practices of placing children in rigid, punitive and demeaning lock-up jail facilities. During the time it operated, Fort Worden Treatment Center was nationally recognized for its progressive approach and overwhelming success in correcting delinquent behaviors in children.
Bayly’s legal career also began in the Juvenile Court System where he initially worked as a special deputy prosecutor in King County. Later, Bayly worked as a defense attorney where he defended thousands of juveniles and adults accused of criminal offenses. He also spent many years defending parents in Juvenile Dependency Courts (CPS Cases) where he helped reunite a great number of parents with their children after their children had been placed in either relative care or foster care by Child Protective Services (CPS).
Bayly’s early work in Juvenile court and Criminal Courts naturally led him to expand his practice to Family Court where he has worked for decades helping parents in countless divorce, custody, support/alimony and property settlement issues. Bayly’s experience in defending individuals accused of substance abuse, domestic violence and other criminal conduct has often been indispensable to assisting the parents that come to him for help in their divorce and custody cases. Bayly’s office is located in Pierce County, Tacoma Washington, where he assists the majority of his clients. Bayly has also, however, successfully assisted clients with cases in Whatcom County, Skagit County, Snohomish County, South and North King County, Thurston County, Lewis County, Grays Harbor County, Mason County, Pacific County and Jefferson County.

Family law clients are often faced with a mixture of emotional situations. Paula is a calm, helpful and supportive presence as she handles their urgent needs, while patiently explaining the process. Paula is an additional contact between the clients and our law office. She is always on top of scheduling appointments and court appearances, drafting necessary documents, as well as keeping the client files organized.
